NoLoss Valve Caps

Article written by Tom Dube

Date Added: 06/16/2006

Say you?re at the trailhead airing down your tires. You jump in and about half a mile down the trail you think ?Did I put the caps back on all the valve stems??

Here is a little help for all of us that keep losing the valve caps. Extreme Outback Products has found a way to make the loss of the valve stem caps a thing of the past. They are called NoLoss Valve Caps. These little babies make life so easy. George at Extreme Outback Products told me that the caps are tested to 500 psi. They are made of brass and coated with zinc. The zinc coating protects them from the elements.

They are made in England and were designed and made for the English Army and Nato Forces.

These valve caps also have a seal inside. So, if you have a trailer, an RV, or Jeep that is parked for an extended time, the cap will not allow the air to leak out if the schrader valve fails.

As you can see in the picture, the valve caps have a plastic lanyard.

Installation

1. Remove the existing cap.

2. Place the open end of the retaining lanyard on the threads and while pressing it down, turn clockwise. Once it starts to thread on to the valve stem.

3. Continue to thread it down until it goes past the threads.

4. At this point the open end of the cap should be facing up.

5. Bend the strap so the cap is on the valve stem threads and finger tighten.

Final Thoughts

Just think of how many times you have lost one of those little caps. Not any more, even if you forget to screw the cap back on, it will still be there when you do remember.

I wish I had been the one to think of such a great Idea. The quality is very good and they do a great job. They keep the air in, the dirt out, and they are always there no matter how many times I forget to screw then back on to the valve. All my vehicles will have these little gems on the valve stems. NO MORE LOST CAPS!!
